For senior executives: how to find, keep a mentor, initiate and grow networking connections – always close the communications loop, express appreciation in words and deeds by giving as frequently as possible to show you value the relationship and understand that partnerships are reciprocal. Being a giver means looking for opportunities to not only do something that is helpful but to also reach out when you are not aware there’s a need but always be ready to lend a hand, give an ear, etc. Networking Purposefully is seeking out individuals to connect with that are likely to appreciate your initiative in reaching out to them first. Why are they appreciative? You showed them that you had something valuable to them.
